Greg Turner
Managing Director
Greg started his career in December 1974 in the family meat business Holbrook Meat Pty Ltd.
Under his fathers guidance and strict instruction to 'start at the bottom', Greg was able to occupy many roles giving him a sound understanding in the areas of Hospitality, Food, Materials handling, Administration and Export.
Holbrook transformed into Holco Ltd and was floated on the Australian Stock Exchange in 1985.
Greg was anxious to replicate his Fathers success and in 1987 Greg left Holco to start his own trading company, which quickly grew into a large and also successful Foodservice distribution company. This company known as Regency Food Services operated from Regency Park and by 1998 employed 60 staff.
Regency won many industry awards for its innovation and spectacular growth, including Telstra/SA Govt. Business of the year in 1996 and National Food Service Distributor 1998. In 1999 Greg sold out to multinational food distribution company, Bidvest Plc.
In 2001, after a term under contract to Bidvest, Greg bought into Options Wine Merchants Pty Ltd (then owned entirely by Deb Kingsbury). The business appealed to him because of its close similarities to the Foodservice industry. Options had many familiar Customers and the service and logistics requirements where exactly the same as Regency.
Greg's strategy is to learn about the wine industry and then apply his skills and new innovation to make Options a highly focused regional liquor distributor.
