Colour: light golden straw with lifted green hues.
Aroma: an attractive mix of peach, citrus and vanillin oak.
Palate: varietal characters of stonefruit and citrus, over subtle oak. The wine has creaminess of length from lees stirring and finishes with zesty acidity.
Winemaking:
The fruit was harvested in the cool of the night to preserve freshness and quality. Individual batches were cold settled and cool fermented in stainless steel and some French oak with lees stirring to give length and roundness. The wine was stabilised and filtered prior to bottling.
Vintage Summary:
Mild weather conditions during December and January provided perfect ripening conditions which resulted in an early start to vintage (10 January). With the harvest underway, ideal conditions continued through February followed by a record breaking hot spell (17 days over 30ºC) during March. Early ripening white varieties showed excellent varietal character and structure.
