Le Macchiole was the dream of Eugenio Campolmi and was born of a need to produce great wine in respect to the vineyard. He saw opportunity in Bolgheri, which is now considered one of most celebrated oenological areas in Italy. In 1991 Eugenio appointed Luca d’Attoma who immediately supported his dream and they worked in tandem to produce wines of unique qality

Eugenio’s untimely death did not stop the project and Cinzia, his wife and partner of many years stepped in to continue the legacy. The 2008 Messorio has just received 100 points from Wine Spectator – Eugenio would be proud…
