Solar Viejo, situated in Rioja Alavesa in the northern part of La Rioja close to the medieval village of Laguardia, was founded in 1937. Solar Viejo is named after the "Casas Solariegas", ancestral homes or family seats that are typical in Laguardia. For generations the winery has had a strong relationship, based on life-long collaboration, with local vine growers. This relationship ensures that the grapes are of the best quality.
