Why Nebbiolo?
Tired of drinking Shiraz and over extracted Cabernet and not being a Burgundy fan, I was introduced to the Nebbiolo grape by long time friend, Justin Lane of Redheads Studio fame in 2003. After drinking a Barolo for the first time I was awe -struck by a wine that looked completely oxidized in the glass but revealed so much flavour concentration with a real yin and yang of floral and savoury characters. I was a convert. The next step was to convert the old man who is the most parochial of SA shiraz men. With the job successfully done our journey began….
