The family has farmed Zilzie Estate since the early 1900’s and generations on, they continue to run the property, which has been devoted to high quality vineyards for more than three decades.

The Zilzie Story
Farming at Karadoc since the early 1900’s the Forbes family established the first vineyards at Zilzie Estate in 1971. The winery, located in North West Victoria, is just a stone’s throw from the banks of the Murray River and has over 1700 acres under vine.
Devoted to high quality vineyards, the Forbes family has been supplying premium fruit to some of Australia’s best known wine brands, for the past 34 years.
Knowing that premium fruit is essential in the production of high quality wine, the Forbes family believed in their product and took the next step and created the Zilzie Wines’ brand in 2001.
Recent expansions in the winery have seen Zilzie move into the top 10 Australian wine producers by volume, with an estimated crush capacity of 50,000 tonnes.
Zilzie, originates from the Forbes’ Scottish heritage, and was the name given to their first property in Australia. Zilzie, a private company wholly owned by the Forbes Family, is a rising star in the Australian wine industry.
