PROHIBITION NEGRONI 500ML X 3
Prohibition Negroni Small Batch 500ml x 3
Traditionally made with Campari, Sweet Vermouth and Gin in equal parts. 3 bitter ingredients equate to a drink which many people struggle to drink the traditional version of, due to the intensity and astringency of the elements together.
Our Negroni is very different to this... firstly ALL AUSTRALIAN
Applewood Red Okar (made with native riberries), Maidenii Sweet Vermouth (an awesome Australian product) and Our Bathtub Cut gin
The result is a smoother, less sour, more earthy and botanical driven Negroni, with a softness from the Bathtub Cut, which despite being the strongest Negroni going around (37% versus about 25% as normal) it is the easiest drinking version we have tried.
We made a barrel of this for our stand at the Central Markets - which happened to coincide with Negroni week. It was so popular and so many people asked if they could buy it that by the end of the second week we decided we would just do it and used our small batch labels for it. We sold out of as much as we could make from bottles of the other products (30 bottles) in 2 days and then ordered bulk quantities for the Vermouth and Okar to make a proper batch. The Vermouth is an interesting one - it is unfiltered, which is what gives that sediment you will see in the bottle - a story we will likely have to tell the bars etc, but gives more oomph and flavour to the end result.
OK, with all that out of the way... to answer your question...
To serve:
Just neat over ice with a twist of orange peel - done!
Or as a long serve with a blood orange mixer is awesome too!
